"If you are an Artist

it is work that fulfills and makes you come into wholeness, and that goes on through a lifetime. Whatever the wounds that have to heal, the moment of creation assures that all is well, that one is still in tune with the universe, that the inner chaos can be proved and distilled into order and beauty."

I opened the book this morning because I had no energy to do anything else. Then had a busy several hours learning a new program in order to develop Creativemark 2.0. Did nothing afterward, that is, besides listen to past programs of Wait, wait...  on my iPod while lying in bed.

Need to find another word for archiving. The websites Richard created, online portfolios of work he did for clients and himself, are historical and timeless. Some need temporary attention, others longer.

Creativemark Design & Photography is closed. Died with Richard. A year before he was diagnosed we changed the name to reflect my foray into video marketing and social media, in addition to his photography. We came up with Creativemark Design & Communication and a cool new logo that would be internet friendly. Another gift from the artist. Rich would not have know that he was setting up a legacy. Or maybe he did.

As I wrote the Sarton quote from my Daily Meditations for Working Through Grief, I saw that the quote speaks of Richard's life through the end. Richard's art kept him whole, healed him of the terrible fear that might have taken down another man, and held me up and assured me, too. Art helped order our inner chaos. Art helps my inner chaos now. Part of the development of Creativemark 2.0 is honoring Rich's richness, in addition to kicking off a new endeavor.

  1. We have to find a way to continue to honor his work and honor him.
