The morning star is either Jupiter or Mars.
The song I woke to, FreeBird by Lynard Skynyrd.
If I leave here tomorrow
Would you still remember me?
For I must be traveling on, now,
'Cause there's too many places I've got to see.
But, if I stayed here with you, girl,
Things just couldn't be the same.
'Cause I'm as free as a bird now,
And this bird you can not change.
Oh... oh... oh... oh... oh...
And the bird you cannot change.
And this bird you cannot change.
Lord knows I can't change.
Bye, bye, baby it's been a sweet love.
Yea, yea
Though this feeling I can't change.
But please don't take it so badly,
'Cause the lord knows I'm to blame.
But, if I stayed here with you girl,
Things just couldn't be the same.
Cause I'm as free as a bird now,
And this bird you can not change.
Oh... oh... oh... oh... oh...
And this bird you cannot change.
And this bird you cannot change.
Lord knows, I can't change.
Lord help me, I can't change.
Lord I can't change,
Won't you fly high free bird yea.
When I remember this day a year ago I remember the mornings that followed Sept 5th, preparing to work with Naomi & Adrian, waking at 5:30 in the morning in the dark, watching the stars from the back porch, talking to Rich in those stars, thanking him for being there, so close, so far, within me.
Alexandra died February 11, 2013. I worked for her and Bertie getting the kids up and ready for Nursery School, a 3 & 4 year old. Rich was sick the day I started at Alexandra's January 15. January 17th Rich went to see the doctor, the same time I was in my very first board meeting at AIA.EB. Kathleen helped me get him home. February 16 Rich went in for the endoscopy and colonoscopy and found out he had a tumor at the juncture of the esophagus & stomach.
This fall I told the kids, Naomi and Adrian, that they kept me going, getting me out bed every school day to help them get ready for their day, helped me. We are tied together in this journey, their grandparents too, Alice & Richard. How strange is that to have another Alice & RIchard in my own life.
