In the middle of a pandemic of unknown proportions, the natural world keeps on growing.
These lilac have been growing at the corner of Best and Fleming since I've lived here in Maxwell Park, Oakland, CA.
I grew up with lilac bushes across the street from my families home, on Leland Ave, in The Bronx, NYC, NY, at my childhood friends home.
The Scherf's lilac bush grew alongside the swing set we played on. The spring bloom could make you swoon, the color out of this world, flying high on the swings as little kids added to the intensity.
